Act Now Legal Services (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a licensed paralegal firm located at 164 Innisfil St, Suite 103, Barrie, Ontario, L4N 3E7. We are regulated by the Law Society of Ontario (licence P21639).

This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act(PIPEDA) and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

2. Information we collect

Contact form

When you submit the contact form on our website we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), the type of matter you are inquiring about, and your message. Submissions are processed by Formspark. We use this information solely to respond to your inquiry.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter we collect your email address. You will receive no more than one email per month containing plain-English updates about Ontario law relevant to our practice areas. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send.

Booking

Free consultation bookings are handled through Calendly. Any information you provide during booking is subject to Calendly’s Privacy Policy.

Error monitoring

We use Sentry to automatically detect and log technical errors on this website. Sentry may collect your IP address and browser information. We use this data only to diagnose and fix technical problems. See Sentry’s Privacy Policy.

3. How we use your information

• To respond to your inquiry or provide the service you requested
• To send the newsletter you subscribed to (with your express consent)
• To diagnose and fix technical issues on the website
• We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties
• We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling

4. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate this website:

• Formspark — processes contact form submissions (Privacy Policy)
• MailerLite — manages newsletter subscriptions (Privacy Policy)
• Calendly — handles consultation booking (Privacy Policy)
• Sentry — monitors website errors (Privacy Policy)
• Vercel — hosts this website (Privacy Policy)

5. Data retention

Contact form submissions are retained by Formspark in accordance with their policies. We delete inquiry emails from our inbox once the matter is resolved or after 24 months, whichever comes first. Newsletter subscriber records are retained until you unsubscribe.

6. Your rights

Under PIPEDA you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we hold about you
• Request a copy of your personal information
• Request corrections to inaccurate information
• Withdraw consent for us to use your information (subject to legal or contractual obligations)

7. CASL — newsletter consent

By subscribing to our newsletter you are giving express consent under CASL to receive commercial electronic messages from Act Now Legal Services. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. We will honour all unsubscribe requests within 10 business days.

8. Security

This website is served over HTTPS. We do not store payment information. Contact form data is transmitted directly to Formspree over an encrypted connection.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the website after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
